Carol Picart came to Halifax from Jamaica as a young child and moved to Toronto as a teenager.  She worked in a variety of health-related positions while pursuing her musical education.  As “Chauncey Picart”, she boasts over 20 well-loved music videos on YouTube.  In recent years, in addition to university and medical studies, Carol has championed a multitude of charitable projects under the Mia’Sarka banner.  Her first-person work in Uganda, Kenya and Jamaica has brought new buildings, equipment, supplies and clean drinking water to communities, orphanages, schools, women’s programs, clinics and hospitals.  In Jamaica, she runs a program to provide cataract surgeries to poor people who would otherwise lose their sight, and most recently, she has provided relief and recovery to victims of hurricane Melissa.
